Our next raffle will be for a 1911-A1 pistol with a 700xxx serial number which puts it as a 1924 manufacture, according to this web site.

This is a family heirloom; we will be selling 200 tickets at $5 per ticket, and YOU MUST BE AN OSAGE ORANGE SHARPSHOOTER MEMBER to buy tickets.

This pistol has been ridden hard and put away wet.  But it works just fine.  I took it to the range today and put 50 rounds of Remington 230 grain ball through it at falling plates.  I'm no pistol shooter, but once I spent a magazine and a half to get familiar with the trigger, I had no trouble hitting the plates (about 6" diameter) from 10-15 yards.   Backing up to 20-25 yards made it a good bit more difficult, but I still hit about 50%.

A couple closeups so you can see the "patina."   First.  Second.

We'll draw when all the tickets are sold.
