SBRC Work Day November 7

If you can make it, we can fool around rebuilding the target frames on the range we use.  One thing we WON'T do is set a new post to replace the burnt one.  I think we'll just get in the habit of setting a temporary post for every match we shoot.  We'll see how that goes, anyway.  Could be more of a hassle than it's worth.

One thing we will have to do is pull the stump of the old post out of the PVC pipe.  Here's a Youtube video of a guy pulling a similar post out of concrete.  I think that should work for us if we can use a couple of posts as fulcrum and lever.  Anybody got the hitching plate he used?  "Not sold in stores" at Home Depot.

  • Another video

  • You sure? I have this huge drill and an impact drill. We can just turn that thing into swiss cheese and pull it out. Or get a huge lag bolt and do the same thing.

Oh well, I have to check my schedule anyway. I may need to take the kiddos to KC that day...grrrr...

  • Hey, this is coming up, like, NOW.  Roll call for those able to help pulling the "stump" and prettifying the range?

  • I will be there. What time do you want me and what do you want me to bring?

  • We need to extract the stump of a post from the PVC, rebuild the frames.  Maybe cut some brush off the right hand berm?

  • I can be there
